Walking with God: Embracing Transparency and Connection

Walking with God: Embracing Transparency and Connection

In the third chapter of Genesis, there's a wonderful little side story where we’re told that in the cool of the evening, God used to walk in His garden with His beloved Adam and Eve, sharing with them all of the wonder, joy, and happiness that He and they saw in all of creation.

It’s a beautiful image of how at home Adam and Eve were with God. They could just walk with Him in the cool of the evening, illustrating the deep love and acceptance He had for them. This companionship surely meant they could be compassionate and transparent with each other.

God has never stopped inviting us to walk with Him and to open our hearts, both the good and the bad, with transparency before a loving God. We don’t need a veneer to cover ourselves in our conversations with the Lord. We can be honest with Him about our fears, sorrows, disappointments, as well as our joys and every wonderful thing in our lives.

What might you need to share with God today? What concerns you? What do you talk about with other people? Perhaps you can share that with God and see what He might want to say to you.
